About The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Third Line Engineer to join the Digital Services team in our Bristol office.  

Reporting into the IT Operations Manager, the successful candidate's role will include supporting all existing infrastructure including server, storage, network, data and applications as well as project-based work to improve and enhance the infrastructure environment.  We aim to build new or improve existing technical capabilities or processes to ensure a positive end user experience.  

The role holder will collaborate with colleagues in the wider Digital Services team, to support, maintain, configure and upgrade all elements of the infrastructure estate. The role holder will primarily be involved in project delivery with additional complex technical issues to address.   

This is a varied role, and responsibilities will include providing appropriate technical support for hardware, software and networks across the business, whilst maintaining a view on technology administration to enhance stability, performance, utilisation and effectively manage costs. The role will also involve delivering exceptional service to all users of IT. Working with internal colleagues across UK, Ireland and Canada regions and third parties, in order to deliver technical services, recovery plans and procedures, whilst ensuring established service levels are always adhered to. We work relentlessly on solving customer’s problems and strive to continuously do better by understanding our internal customers’ needs. 

About You

We are keen to hear from candidates who can evidence deliver of exceptional customer service and work efficiently and effectively whilst adhering to established IT controls.  

You will have in depth operational experience in MS Azure cloud services, maintaining and supporting AD environments, end to end network solutions, scripting e.g. Powershell and backups e.g. Arcserve/Veeam. It will be desirable for experience with AWS Cloud Services, Cisco AnyConnect, Autopilot, an understanding of Devops and ITIL foundation certification.  

In addition, we are looking for candidates that can demonstrate the following:  

  • Inquisitorial and problem-solving focus to provide exceptional service delivery to all end users.
  • Ability to balance quality of output with pace by managing time effectively. 
  • A thirst for learning and a passion for technology, with an enthusiasm to stay up to date with industry trends and advances.  

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in our Bristol City Centre office, involving some support from our regional site in Bedwas, South Wales.
