About The Role

At ARAG, we are enthusiastic about empowering people and exploring technology that makes a real difference. As an Innovation Engineer, you will play a key role in our newly formed Research & Development team within Digital Services, helping us identify and test new ways to improve how we work and the services we provide.

You will join a collaborative and forwardthinking team where curiosity is encouraged, ideas are valued and responsible innovation is central to everything we do. In this role, you will focus on researching, experimenting with and prototyping emerging technologies, with a strong emphasis on Artificial Intelligence and Microsoftbased solutions.

Working closely with the Innovation Engineering Manager and colleagues across Digital Services, IT, legal and compliance, you will explore practical applications for new tools and approaches, assess their feasibility and impact, and help shape ideas before they’re handed over to delivery teams. This is a handson role, combining technical experimentation with collaboration, documentation and clear communication.

You will be responsible for:

  • Researching and experimenting with emerging technologies, particularly AI and Microsoftbased platforms
  • Building proofs of concept and prototypes to demonstrate the potential of new tools and ideas
  • Assessing technical feasibility, business value, security and regulatory considerations
  • Contributing to our technology radar and innovation backlog
  • Working closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment with governance and regulatory requirements
  • Producing clear documentation, including adoption kits, to support handover into delivery teams
  • Supporting initiatives that drive automation, efficiency and infrastructure optimisation
  • Promoting a culture of experimentation, learning and responsible innovation across the business

About You

You will be a technically capable and naturally curious individual, motivated by exploring new tools, learning quickly and turning ideas into tangible outcomes. You are comfortable working independently but you also enjoy collaborating with others and communicating technical concepts in a clear, accessible way.

You will have:

  • A strong understanding of the Microsoft ecosystem, including Power Platform, Azure and Microsoft 365
  • Handson experience with lowcode/nocode tools and automation
  • Practical experience applying AI technologies, such as GenAI or AIdriven augmentation
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, C# or JavaScript
  • Experience working with data using SQL and/or Python
  • Confidence using tools such as GitHub to support prototyping and integration testing
  • Awareness of working in a regulated UK environment, with an understanding of FCA, PRA or SRA considerations
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

You may also bring experience or interest in areas such as machine learning or NLP, infrastructure optimisation, cloud security and governance, or agile and innovation frameworks but above all, we are looking for someone excited by experimentation, learning and building what’s next.

In return for your commitment, we will offer you generous remuneration and a benefits package to include:

  • 26 days holiday with the option to buy up to a further 5 days
  • Company pension scheme with the option to increase contributions
  • Group Income Protection for all employees
  • Group Legal Protection for all employees
  • A choice of either European Motor Assistance or Home Emergency Assistance
  • Salary sacrifice benefits including Cycle scheme
  • A comprehensive wellbeing programme including an employee Health Cash Plan
  • Access to our employee discounts hub offering exclusive discounts across thousands of retail partners, including discounted gym memberships at over 3,000 gyms across the UK
  • The option to join our Sports and Social club which organises discounted events such as theatre visits and shopping trips

At ARAG UK we encourage our people to achieve a work-life balance that works for them and are happy to discuss flexible working options.

If you think you would be a good match for this role and can demonstrate some transferable experience please apply, regardless of whether you meet all the criteria listed above.
