About The Role

  • We have a new internal vacancy for a Supply Chain Data Lead. 

    As a key part of the Outsourcing team, this role is responsible for leading on data exchange with suppliers, collation of data and reporting both internally and externally to business partners.   

    The Data Lead responsible for supply chain management will work closely with internal Stakeholders and Project Teams to support in the decision making as to the nature and method of data ingestion from suppliers, including external claims handlers.  

    The role will play a key role in defining, implementing and continually improving the processes through which supplier data is received, validated and integrated, both at the outset of a new relationship, and where data improvements and updates are required with existing suppliers. The Data Lead will support the efficient onboarding of new suppliers providing insights and guidance to the onboarding team as to minimum data requirements.   

    This role will involve assessing claims data outputs & trends, establishing patterns of success and failure, and providing actionable insights.  

    In addition the role will involve analysing the commercial impacts related to performance, costs, and complaints. The Data Lead will be instrumental in identifying areas for focus and in taking forward improvements to enhance claims handling accuracy and operational efficiency. 

    Some of the key responsibilities include: 

    Data Comparison & Accuracy Evaluation: 

    Compare claims suppliers data outputs with internal benchmarks and expected results. 

    Establish an ARAG UK benchmark data output for different supplier types. 

    Identify discrepancies or anomalies in reported claims data, ensuring the accuracy and consistency. 

    Investigate root causes of data inaccuracies and discrepancies to determine the scope of issues and rectify where appropriate. 

    Identifying Patterns of Success and Failure: 

    Establish patterns and trends in claims handling performance and supplier data, focusing on both successful outcomes and areas of failure. 

    Analyse patterns across multiple claims categories and identify any recurring issues that impact accuracy or claims cost. 

    Recommendations for Improvement: 

    Provide data-driven recommendations on areas requiring focus or improvement to enhance the supplier’s claims handling process. 

    Reporting & Documentation: 

    Generate comprehensive and clear reports on claims and performance of suppliers to ARAG UK. 

    Establish and automate distribution partner specific reporting based on data from suppliers.  

    Data Processing: 

    Automate data collection, cleaning, and reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.  

    Play a key role in the design and implementation of supplier data ingestion processes. 

    Commercial Impact Assessment: 

    Assess the commercial implications of supplier performance, including financial impact, claims costs, and related complaints. 

    Leverage data and trends to identify opportunities to reduce claims costs while maintaining service quality. 

    Monitor claims trends and provide insights on potential risks or emerging issues that could impact the commercial objectives. 

    Complaint Analysis: 

    Review and analyse complaints related to suppliers, in particular outsourced claims services, identifying trends and facilitating comparison between suppliers. 

About You

Advanced experience of data analysis, manipulation and visualisation. 

Experience designing and managing data ingestion processes from suppliers. 

Proven experience developing management information dashboards and reporting. 

Confidence in liaising and collaborating with suppliers 

Knowledge and experience within a financial services regulated environment and of relevant laws and industry codes of practice.  

Ability to take ownership of own workload to achieve goals and objectives with particular focus on detail and demonstrating capacity to drive tasks to conclusion.  

Highly adaptive and able to challenge the status quo: having the confidence to constructively challenge processes across the business. 

Proficiency in SQL and other data querying or transformation tools would be advantageous.
